Keystone Localization

Services

Most clients use us for two or three of these together. All of them can be booked on their own.

Translation

We translate from English, French, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese source text into around forty target languages. Core languages are handled by staff translators at the hubs; the rest by long-term freelancers we have worked with for years.

We work in your string format where possible. If you don't have a localization pipeline yet, we can help set up a simple one. For live games we run on a regular cadence, so patch text arrives translated in time for the patch.

Linguistic QA

LQA testers play the localized build and log anything that reads wrong, looks wrong, or doesn't fit. That includes overlapping or clipped text, missing glyphs, raw variable tags showing up in the UI, plural and gender errors, and lines that are correct but strange in context.

Bugs come to you in your tracker, with a screenshot, the string ID and a suggested fix. LQA can run at our hubs or, for builds that can't leave your network, on your hardware via remote access.

Voice-over casting and direction

We cast from local talent pools in each hub city, send you auditions, and direct the sessions with a linguist in the room. Lip-sync and time-constrained lines are handled per your spec. Files come back named, cut and checked against the script.

We are happy to work with performers you've chosen yourself.

Culturalization

A culturalization review looks at a game, or a part of it, from the point of view of a specific market. We flag things like flags and maps, religious imagery, historical references, hand gestures, colour associations and humour that won't travel. You get a short written report with each item ranked by how much it matters, and options for what to do about it.

This is most useful early, at concept or vertical-slice stage, when changes are still cheap.

Terminology and style

Not really a separate service, but worth mentioning: every title gets a glossary and a style guide per language, which belong to you and are handed over at the end of the project.
